After the recent terror attack in London, the UK police have started the counter-terrorism campaign to deal with the terrorism. In a report, they said Accessing the Dark Web is a symbol of terrorism. They are not keeping their hands folded in spite of arresting several suspects who are considered to be the main peoples behind the recent terror attack in the UK. They have given out a leaflet with the listing of suspicious activities which are noted as a symbol of potential terrorism.
The report which released in last year explains how the weapons are smuggled into the UK from the darknet. The terrorists use darknet marketplace as a place to Smuggle guns, to communicate, recruit and raise funds. The leaflet says “Be aware of what is going on nearby you – anything which strikes you as different or strange, or anyone that you feel is working suspiciously – it could be someone you know or even somebody or something that you notice when you are out and about that doesn’t feel quite right.”

The authorities already spotted that Darknet marketplace is a platform which hides the terrorists and other individuals who involve in the weapons smuggling. It was stated in 2015 that ISIS had created a propaganda Deep web website.
Darknet – The strength of Terrorists
From the perspective of law enforcement, Darknet is weak, as it protects criminals and hinders the efforts of lawmakers with its Anonymous nature. But it is the strength for terrorists and others to communicate and engage in illicit transactions by accessing the Dark web. In a National Assembly Meeting at 2016, Bernard Cazeneuve, the Internal Affairs Minister in France said Darknet is used by criminals for their violent activities. There is no information whether the Darknet is related to Bitcoin or not. Based on the reports provided by the investigators, both Darknet and Bitcoin supports terrorists with their anonymous nature.
The weapon smuggling from the Darknet is increased heavily in countries like Netherlands. There is no surprise that some investigators thought that criminals order weapons from the darknet. According to the report which released on March shows the trade of transnational crime is estimated around $1.6 trillion to $2.2 trillion per year. The report of King’s College London stated that 57% of criminal activities occurred on the Darknet marketplace. To fight against these terrorist arising from the Darknet, some countries have taken proactive steps to ban the use of Bitcoin and to prevent the peoples from accessing the Dark web.
Professor Rid told “Militants and extremists don’t seem to find the Tor hidden services infrastructure was very useful. It’s used for criminal services, fraud, extreme, banned adult contents, cyber-attacks and network crime.” Officials around the world are joining hands to prevent users from accessing the Dark web and the smuggling of guns that support terrorism on the various marketplaces.
